Open Labour statement on Tory Islamophobia

We are disappointed in the decision by the EHRC not to investigate the Conservative Party for Islamophobia.

The Muslim Council of Britain provided the EHRC with a dossier of allegations of Islamophobia in the Conservative Party against over 300 people, including allegations against the Prime Minister. The EHRC is rightly investigating the Labour Party for institutional anti-Semitism and must apply the same standards to the Conservative Party. An Islamophobia inquiry by the Conservative Party is not enough. The EHRC has a duty to investigate.
